This evening Councillors Ben Miskell and Sophie Wilson took part in South Yorkshire Police and First South Yorkshire’s ‘Trojan’ Decoy Bus Operation. Police Officers and First staff spent many hours driving circuits around Abrourthorne in a bid to catch those throwing object who disrupt bus services in the area.

Bus services have been withdrawn from parts of Arbourthorne over the past few weeks, due to increased levels of anti-social behaviour directed towards buses. This has caused significant disruption to local residents.

Local councillors have been working hard to tackle the issue, including seeking improvements to the Burners Road building site to reduce the availability of material that could be used against buses, as well as working with First South Yorkshire and South Yorkshire Police to seek a way forward to reintroduce bus services.
