Working alongside Councillor Sophie Wilson and the Park and Arbourthorne Labour Team this summer we held a Big Community Conversation about Arbourthorne Pond. Lots of excellent ideas came in about how to improve the space that had been neglected for many years.
The good news is that we’ve managed to secure £10,000 worth of funding from the Environment Agency, with a further £10,000 on the way from the council’s Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) fund. That’s a total of £20,000 to improve the pond and make your ideas a reality.
Most work starts in 2021, but to protect pond ecology, some is starting now in the run up to Christmas. There’s still time to take part in our Big Community Conversation. Learn more about what’s happening in this video.
